From Sage to Emerald, Finding Your Perfect Shade of Green Lingerie

Green is the color of money, envy… and your trendiest lingerie! This season, we’re keen on green, and that extends to our lingerie wardrobes. If you’ve ever thought you “can’t” wear green, or it doesn’t suit you, think again. Anybody can wear green, even just a dash - it’s just a matter of finding the perfect shade for you. And why not dip your toe with some fun lingerie? Here’s how to find the perfect shade of green lingerie for your collection.

Consider your wardrobe

The most essential aspect of choosing your perfect shade of green is to ask yourself what you like. Do you prefer lighter shades or darker ones? Do you already own green clothes, and what do they look like? Do you plan to match your lingerie to your clothes, or just add some fun and variety that you’ll enjoy in private? It’s important to know because that will impact the color choices.

If you’re looking to match, then you can go ahead and do it the easy way - take a photo of the items you’d like to match and go lingerie shopping armed with these photos acting as color swatches. Remember that while getting a lighter colored green bra to wear under darker-colored clothes works just fine, dark lingerie under light colored clothes will show.

Consider your color season

Your tastes and preferences are, of course, paramount. But what about what looks best on you? Color analysis teaches us that we have “best” colors and colors that aren’t that flattering. But it’s also true that anyone can wear any color, as long as the shade is correct. So, if the category is green, what is your ideal shade, according to your color season?

  • Green for Springs

For Spring color season variations, think of fresh greens. Oftentimes with lots of yellow in them, fresh spring greens are vibrant and fun. Lime green is probably the most representative.

  • Green for Summers

For Summers, cooler, more muted greens are suitable. They have a lot of blue content, and often veer into shades of teal. Sage is one of the best representations of a Summer green - and it happens to be super trendy!

  • Green for Autumns

As an Autumn, it will come as no surprise that your best greens are deeper warm greens. Muddy and with a hefty dose of yellow, leaning towards ochre at times. Khaki is one of your best greens.

  • Green for Winters

Winters excel at cool, dark colors. In the case of greens, you’re looking at forest greens, and even dark teals. Your best green is a rich emerald shade that contrasts your skin.

Consider the time of year

You don’t need to match your wardrobe to the season by any means, but some people find it helpful - or fun! - to coordinate in this way. So, the colder months get darker, moodier greens. Forest green, khaki, Kelly green are all fantastic colors for the autumn-winter season. The weather is cold, it’s rainy or muddy, so the darker colors suit the darker mood.

For the spring-summer season, you’ll want lighter and brighter shades of green. A fresh green echoes the fresh greenery found in nature around this time, but you can also play around with shades of lime green, or even teal, all of which suit the bright, summery mood and the hot weather perfectly. It’s a time for picnics in fresh grass, swimming at the pool, and going to the beach to enjoy the gorgeous blue-green water, so why not match those beautiful greens inside your lingerie drawer?

Consider trends

Sometimes, you just want to have fun with new, trendy pieces. Green is not always in vogue, but right now, several shades happen to be really popular. Sage green is a holdover from previous years, and it’s popular both in fashion and in interior design. The best part about this shade is that it’s a softer, more muted take on green, so it’s a great entry-level color, if you’re not used to wearing bolder, brighter shades.

Sparkle Like An Emerald In Your New Lingerie

Why limit yourself to neutral shades, when there’s a whole rainbow of exciting colors waiting out there? Green is for everybody; you just have to find the right shade that makes you shine. Are you attracted to a dark forest green, or are you more of a neon lime girl? If you’re daring, you can mix and match shades of green, opt for a camo print, or even a floral with some green accents. Dip your toe, or go all out, but don’t sleep on the green trend in lingerie.
